Following mediation between Cranleigh Village Hospital Trust and NHS Surrey on 11 June, the Board of NHS Surrey and trustees of Cranleigh Village Hospital Trust have approved an agreement which secures a way forward for the future redevelopment of health facilities in Cranleigh.
The agreement means work to develop the business case for the redevelopment of the health centre on the existing health centre site will go ahead. The PCT Board will consider the business case once it is completed. The existing Cranleigh Village Hospital will be retained by NHS Surrey and will provide the location for the GPs for the duration of work on the health centre redevelopment.
Cranleigh Village Hospital Trust can now build a new health facility on its site on Knowle Lane and make it available to the PCT for the services outlined in the model of care agreed by the Board of NHS Surrey from the Right Team, Right Time consultation.
Local MP, Anne Milton, said: “I am absolutely delighted that an agreement has been reached that puts patients and local people at its heart. There is such enthusiasm and energy in Cranleigh and I know the decisions made by Cranleigh Village Hospital Trustees and the PCT will harness that amazing community spirit to deliver the best possible healthcare for Cranleigh”
