Residents are increasingly concerned at the state of their Council as even senior Lib Dem councillors admit Guildford deserves better.
A new report commissioned by Guildford Borough Council and published by the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) has exposed serious failings at the heart of the Council, affecting every resident across Guildford and our villages. The report presents a damning picture of a council in chaos - without a plan and struggling to control its finances. Whilst residents, particularly the most vulnerable and those in social housing, are forced to suffer delays to services and additional costs. From increased parking charges, above inflation social rent increases and higher council tax to cuts in services, a fire sale of council buildings and a council without a plan, Guildford residents are paying the price of the Lib Dems in office.
