Guildford Conservatives run a number of different clubs where the like-minded can enjoy political discussion, formally and informally, make new friends, meet up with old friends and raise money to allow us to carry on campaigning. Clubs include:
The Four Seasons Lunch Club: Aims to meet at least twice a year in locations such as Cranleigh Village Hall, St. John's Hall in Merrow, and Shalford Village Hall. Participants enjoy lunch with a variety of speakers from the political world. Recent guests include Francis Maude MP and John Gummer MP.
The Curry Club: The Curry Club aims to meet monthly at different reasonably-priced restaurants in Guildford. A chance to enjoy informal political discussion with like minded people. Especially for the under 35s!
The Barn Club: The Barn Club meets approximately twice a year in a renovated barn for a 3 or 4 course dinner. Guest speakers from a wide range of backgrounds are invited to attend. Past speakers include Brigadier Dick Hume, Pete Brayne (Chief Executive of the YMCA), and Jonathan Lord (former Deputy Leader of Westminster Council).
The 1867 Patrons Club: An exclusive members club. This is your opportunity to meet and talk with senior Conservative politicians in a small gathering. Joining fee on application.
The Conservative Policy Forum: An opportunity to have your say on present and future party policy direction. Regular policy debates on a variety of issues, with experts in the field. Guildford members have an excellent track record of real input into policy direction, we are determined this continues.
Local ward branches also hold their own events in addition. Contact us if you would like more information on any event or club. Find out how you can join the Conservatives.
