A personal message from Alex Fiuza, Guildford South East By-Election candidate
"I am standing in the Guildford South East By-Election to represent you on Surrey County Council. Our home town, Guildford, is an amazing place. Growing up in nearby Effingham, Guildford always felt magical to me. And living in central Guildford for over a decade, it still does. I am running to protect what makes Guilford special, and make it an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
"While Labour drives the country into a wall, their allies in the Liberal Democrats are doing the same to Guildford Borough Council. Whether it’s the sky high parking charges, the cuts to small niceties like the Christmas lights switch on, the hanging baskets on the high street, and public toilets, or the years of resisting demands for a heights policy, the Liberal Democrat GBC regime just isn’t good enough.
"As we transition to the new Unitary Council it is vital we have hard working local Councillors who are genuinely invested in Guildford guiding the process. And I intend to be that, to demand and deliver better for Guildford."
