Guildford Conservatives to de-politicise Cranleigh Parish Council

Cllr Liz Townsend (Chairman) and Cllr Angela Richardson (Vice Chairman) have finally brought Cranleigh Parish Council  into line with all parish councils in the Guildford Constituency by making it non-political.

This was put forward and agreed at a recent Guildford Conservative Association Executive meeting of which they are both members.  Guildford Conservatives will not be fielding party candidates and current councillors will be standing as Independents.

They have been supported in this by other members of the Parish Council.

Cllr Rowena Tyler said 'As an Independent Councillor, I am delighted Cranleigh Parish Council has become non-political.  I look forward to standing  with my fellow councillor team as a Independent candidates on the 2nd of May.

Cllr Kate Fernandez said 'We are members of the community working hard for the community.  This is wonderful news.

Parish Council elections will be held on Thursday 2nd of May this year.
