Guildford residents will be pleased that despite Lib Dem run Guildford Borough Council's vote to 'do nothing' about it, work could soon start on restoring the footbridge at Tumbling Way Weir once feasibility studies are complete, thanks to efforts supported by Angela Richardson to break the deadlock between the National Trust and GBC. Councillor Richard Mills said "Hopefully this could be the first step in opening up our riverside, proposed by the last Conservative administration and subsequently a casualty of Lib Dem inaction.
