Sallie Barker is the Conservative candidate for Guildford South West in the Surrey County Council Elections on 6th May. She is also standing to be the Borough Councillor for Friary & St Nicolas in the upcoming by election.
Sallie says "I believe there is synergy between Borough and County representation and I have the time to dedicate to both roles."
Since her retirement in 2016, Sallie has been contributing to making a difference locally. She is President of Guildford Spike WI, co-ordinating their support to Guildford Action, a board member of Guildford Fringe Theatre, organiser of the Guildford Young Carers' Fun Day, a school governor and a volunteer for Age UK.
Sallie's career in a Non-Government Departmental Body and has provided her with the skills and knowledge to make her a particularly effective councillor.
Sallie has a drive and passion to make a positive difference. Whatever she does, she does with enthusiasm and energy. If elected, Sallie will be active in her role as councillor, at both Borough and County level, for the benefit of her community, and she'll work hard to create change for the better.
